TAYLOR MOUTAIN UPDATES
Welcome to March! Just a few updates and notices as we enter our 3rd Trimester here at Taylor Mountain.
Boys Basketball season has ended and they celebrated their passion and peseverance at a celebration on Friday, March 6. They played their hearts out and had a marvelous time participating in the final games March 2-6. Tryouts for Girls Basketball are just around the corner on March 11 and March 12. This is open to 4th, 5th and 6th grade girls.
The week of March 23-27 is Spring Break for our students. Though there is no 'actual school' during this week, we are holding an Intercession Academy for our 3rd grade students that are struggling readers. Parents and families have been contacted regarding their students and we are expecting a marvelous turn out. The Intercession Academy will be held at Taylor Mountain.
During the week of March 30, parents will receive an LCAP survey that will be sent home with your youngest child that attends Taylor Mountain. Please take a few moments and complete the survey. This feedback is so important and your thoughts and words mean a lot to us. You will send it back to school with your child. Prizes are going to be awarded to classrooms with the highest percentage of returns...and...we will be having a drawing for a prize for parents as well!

New Music Teacher!!
Ms. Baron is our new music teacher. She has experience teaching choral music with both children and adults. We found her through the Community Education program at Santa Rosa Junior College, where she has assisted the Joy of Singing course for the last eight years. In addition to her work at SRJC, she has taught beginning students in the Piano and Music Theory classes at Mendocino College, song-writing at a local junior high, and worked at Penngrove School District on their annual music theater program. She has a vocal/music degree, and comes from a musical family (including her grandparents). She has performed as a singer in bands, and enjoys karaoke.
