Hello Taylor Mountain Families!
WELCOME BACK TO OUR NEW AND RETURNING FAMILIES AND STUDENTS!
School begins on August 16, 2017 at 8:00 a.m.. Please remember that every Wednesday is an early dismissal day with students being dismissed from class at 12:25. Class lists will be posted on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at 5:00 p.m.. The first bell will ring at 7:55 a.m..
CHECK IN AT THE OFFICE PRIOR TO GOING TO CLASS
As a reminder, it is essential that if you arrive on the Taylor Mountain campus after 8:00 a.m., you check in at the school office upon arrival. This is an essential measure that protects the safety of our students in addition to protecting their academic class time with their teacher. Class instruction begins each day at 8:00 a.m. . Thank you.
SAFETY DURING SCHOOL ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL
This is an important reminder about student arrival and dismissal procedures. Students may arrive at school via the crosswalk (if they walk to school), through the front entrance of the school, and the two 'breezeways' by the school office and cafeteria or by school bus.
School dismissal procedures will be changing this year to ensure maximum student safety. We will continue to have parents wait at the west side of the quad near the Kindergarten/Preschool classrooms as well as at the flagpole. Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten parents will continue to pick up their children at the classroom. The front entrance of the school will be used exclusively for 'bus riders' at the end of the day. If you are picking up your child from school, please enter and exit through the breezeway areas. There is no parking along the northern edge of the school. We will be redirecting parents to walk along the west side of the school to the breezeways to pick up their children.
Please be patient with use as we implement this new procedure. We continue to be concerned about the safety of our students during both arrival and dismissal times. Many parents are having students run between the buses, across Bellevue Avenue, to enter a vehicle. This is unsafe for our students. A big thank you to our parents that walk in and wait for their children each day in the designated area.
Taylor Mountain students are expected to dress in common dress attire except for designated spirit days. The first day packet will include information regarding the common dress policy as well as indicated below. If you wish to purchase Taylor Mountain gear, order sheets are available in the school office.
Thanks for all that you do for Taylor Mountain....our community partnership between family and staff ensures that Taylor Mountain students continue to soar!!
Common dress requires white, black or burgundy polo shirts, with blue jeans, black or khaki pants, shorts, or skirts. Taylor Mountain Hawk shirts are also acceptable. No athletic pants/ shorts or leggings are allowed, Polo shirts are available at local retail stores. School T-Shirts are available to order from the school office.
